After "European Dream"
Since the last episode, we find ourselves on a bit of an unbeaten run. We played Monaco again in the Champions League and absolutely smashed them 5-2. Then a draw against title-rivals Tottenham wasn't the best result, but it'll do. It was the draw against surprise 3rd place Newcastle that was a bit of a surprise. We got our goals two minutes into each half, and they responded with their own goals 15 minutes into each half. We then beat Atletico Madrid thanks to a late-minute winner from Antonio Rudiger. Relatively easy wins against relegation-candidates Huddersfield Town and Bournemouth has us in the reckoning for the title, just above Tottenham.
Champions League Group Game 6 - 12/10/19
For our final Champions League group game against Sparta Praha, the starting 11 that has gone unbeaten in the league so far will only face one change as Jamaal Lascelles has suffered a training injury that will have him out for several weeks. Hot prospect Luis Pinalla will fill in for him beside Antonio Rudiger.
It was an excellent game for Emad Hossam, as he had a direct hand in all three goals that we scored, and even assisted the own-goal. He has been playing out of his mind, and at only 19, will only get better. We dominated possession, and limited them to a grand total of four shots, with none of them being on goal.
League Game 16 - 12/14/19
Norwich are a team that will struggle against relegation all season, and I don't feel that they should be a problem. Our only change from the last game is the inclusion of Ciprian Boghitoi as Antonio Rudiger's partner at centerback. Luis Pinalla will take the bench as I blood this young center-back duo who will be the backbone of this team for many years to come.
An early red card for Norwich spelled their doom. In a game that saw us continue with protocol and maintain majority possession, we limited them to three total shots. Emad Hossam continued his immaculate run of form, again having a hand in every goal scored. Arkadiusz Milik takes the lead in the race for top-goalscorer with his goal in this game.
League Game 17 - 12/18/19
West Ham are sat just outside the European places in the league table, and they seem like a team capable of performing an upset, so we will be wary of them. There will be no changes made to the team for this game.
This draw saw us lose precious ground against Tottenham in the race for the title as we dropped to second place. Young wonderkid center-back Ciprian Boghitoi put in a man of the match performance in this 0-0 draw that saw us go nearly even in both possession and total shots. Alberto Grassi is starting to really rack up the yellow cards which could prove to be a problem further along the line.
Onward To The Knockout Rounds
As we move on past the group stage of the Champions League, we top our group with a 2-point lead over Atletico Madrid. We were drawn against Italian side Napoli, a team that will be difficult to beat, but certainly easier than many of the other possible opponents. Our next episode will likely see us playing both legs of the first knockout round, as well as a brief recap of every game in-between. We will not highlight the FA Cup in much detail, as we won the competition last season. While this was certainly a shorter update than you are used to, expect the next one to be significantly larger given the amount of content that will be featured.
